What is the Training & Technical Assistance (T&TA) Project?
The Training and Technical Assistance for Children's Justice Act (CJA) Partnerships for Indian Communities Grant Programs is a discretionary grant program from the Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime. The T&TA Project's purpose is to provide hands-on support and services to American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) grantees who have received funding through the CJA Partnerships for Indian Communities Discretionary Grant Program.
Goals of Training and Technical Assistance (T&TA):
(1) Provide culturally relevant services to CJA grantees.
(2) Assist CJA grantees to improve the investigation, prosecution, and handling of child abuse cases.
3) Assist CJA grantees to increase support for child abuse victims and lessen trauma for child victims.
What T&TA Provides:
Unified Solutions is committed to supporting American Indian and Alaska Native communities by providing quality, innovative, professional, and culturally appropriate T&TA services. Our services are intended to aid communities as they respond to child victims of crime in Indian Country, increase program capacity, and establish sustainable practices.
T&TA Resource Library:
Along with our online Resource Library, Unified Solutions maintains an in-house library at its main office in Tempe, Arizona. The library includes books, newspaper and journal articles, audio/visual materials, legal codes, program management resources, training curriculum, newsletters, and fact sheets. Researchers are available to offer assistance by calling 1-877-438-4400 or by email request at: research@unified-solutions.org
Educational Publications & Newsletters:
Unified Solutions continually strives to research topics, issues, laws, and professional practices related to the CJA Project.
The research conducted supports the development of training materials and is a free-of-charge service to each of the grantees. Also serving as program support, Unified Solutions prepares a bi-weekly electronic bulletin filled with the latest training, funding, and grant-related announcements.
In addition, our nationally recognized and nationally distributed bi-monthly T&TA Newsletter is also a free publication that contains educational research articles, funding opportunities, training opportunities, and the latest information and announcements related to T&TA.
Teleclasses:
A series of monthly tele-classes is provided through our toll-free conference line. Each tele-class is a focused, concise training, determined directly by the needs assessments of the grantee community. In addition, Unified Solutions has developed an original 16-week teleclass series, Leadership Skills for Program Managers in Indian Country, designed to provide participants with culturally relevant tools and skills to achive the goals of their programs.
Budget Assistance & Sustainability Support:
We provide services and resources to assist Children's Justice Act (CJA) Partnerships for Indian Communities Grant Programs with budget reporting and sustainability efforts in order to promote successful management, continued growth, and program sufficiency.
Annual Symposium:
An annual symposium will be planned and hosted by Unified Solutions. Our approach to planning for each symposium is based on current trends and issues in Indian Country, evaluation of CJA grantee needs assessments, and all other forms of grantee communication that respond to CJA project goals and objectives.
One-on-One Technical Assistance:
We are available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Arizona) at our office in Tempe. We can be reached by e-mail, telephone, or fax.
