The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) awards billions of dollars in grants and cooperative agreement funding each year, primarily from the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), and the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). The DOJ Office of the Inspector General (OIG) conducts audits of these awards to ensure award recipients are complying with applicable statutes and are accomplishing the goals of the awards.
The OIG has recorded a webinar to explain the grant award audit process. This is a 5-part video series that has been added to the OIG’s public website. This webinar is informative for both grants managers and grantees, who desire a greater understanding of a grant audit lifecycle. The OIG webinar can be viewed by accessing the link https://oig.justice.gov/about/grant-audits.htm or by accessing the OJP portal https://ojpnet.ojp.usdoj.gov/info/resources/Grants/SitePages/Home.aspx.
