OVC TTAC Webinar: “Elder Justice Resources- A Virtual Tour of Available Information and Resources on Elder Abuse, Neglect, and Financial Exploitation” -September 13, 2017

Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance (OVC TTAC) Webinar: “Elder Justice Resources- A Virtual Tour of Available Information and Resources on Elder Abuse, Neglect, and Financial Exploitation.” September 13, 2017 | 3PM ET.

National studies suggest that more than 10 percent of older Americans experience some form of elder abuse in a given year. This makes it highly likely that health care providers will see at least some patients who are experiencing elder abuse. Andy Mao and Julie Schoen will be sharing information and demonstrating two websites that focus exclusively on elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation, the Elder Justice website and the National Center on Elder Abuse website. Participants will learn about resources and training opportunities that can deepen their understanding of how to identify and respond to elder abuse. The Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program’s survey results on existing elder abuse training will be discussed, as well. The webinar will include time for Q&A.
