URGENT REQUEST REGARDING VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT FUNDING AND U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES LETTER

U.S. Congressional Victims’ Rights Caucus co-chairs Reps. Ted Poe and Jim Costa are circulating a letter for other Members of Congress to sign, requesting that the FY 2018 cap on Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding be set at $2.737 billion without any new or expanded transfers for programs not authorized under the VOCA statute. The letter also asks that the Justice Department make recommendations on providing resources to meet the victim assistance needs for Native American crime victims. The letter is attached to this MMM for your review.
Please call or email your Member of Congress and ask him/her to support VOCA funding by joining with Reps. Poe and Costa in making these requests.
