Unified Solutions own Anthony Tyler Payne was called up by the Chicago Cubs from Triple-A Iowa to catch in the season finale against the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Cubs won 3-2 and Payne made his MLB debut in front of over 60,000 fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

Payne shared the field with Cardinals’ legendary catcher, Yadi Molina.

Payne, 28, was selected by Chicago in the 30th round of the 2015 draft out of West Virginia State University. In six minor league seasons, the right-handed hitter has batted .244 (244-for-1,000) with 54 doubles, five triples, 23 home runs and 139 RBI in 287 games.

Payne was named a 2019 Carolina League mid-season All-Star with Single-A Myrtle Beach. This season, primarily with Double-A Tennessee, Payne has hit .231 (49-for-212) with 14 doubles, one triple, four home runs and 30 RBI in 59 games.
