Prosecutors Engaging with People with Lived Experience Webinar

December 3, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys on December 3rd at 3 pm Eastern for a webinar that highlights two prosecutors’ offices that are effectively engaging and partnering with people with lived experience. The Alameda County Justice Restoration Project (ACJRP) is a nationally recognized community-based justice initiative, which pairs program participants with professionally trained peer coaches with similar lived experience. Inside Criminal Justice is a semester-long seminar comprised of individuals incarcerated at Queensboro Correctional Facility Edgecombe Correctional Facility and prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and is intended to encourage in-depth and respectful conversation about the criminal justice system, culminating in jointly-authored policy proposals. These programs emphasize the importance of lifting the voice and perspective of people with lived experience in the criminal justice system.

The presenters are Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley and Luis Morales, Executive Director of the Manhattan D.A. Academy and Assistant District Attorney of the New York County District Attorney’s Office. They will share their expertise and insights and provide attendees with a look at how their respective programs operate. This webinar is free and open to all who wish to attend.
