Training Opportunity: August 16, 2022. The National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center presents “Peer-to-Peer Training: Key Issues and Steps in the Development of Shelter Programs from a Tribal Coalition’s Experience”.

The outstanding leaders of the Strong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition (SHNWC) will share their expertise and knowledge gained from establishing three survivor and culturally centered shelters within the southern California region.

This dynamic Peer-to-Peer opportunity will cover a range of key topics from cultural considerations, shelter basics and logistics, trauma and resilience informed advocacy, leadership and administration to funding resources for shelter programs. Discussion includes confidentiality challenges and responding to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
