Training Reminder for Enhance Early Engagement (E3) Training for CAC Victim Advocates

Important reminder from National Children’s Alliance October Newsletter:
“Just a quick reminder to Accredited Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs): If you’re interested in applying to the Enhance Early Engagement (E3) Training for CAC Victim Advocates, the deadline is October 23.
CACs can offer the best mental health services in the world, but children and families who don’t use those services may never have the chance to fully recover from the trauma of abuse. To bolster the important work victim advocates already do with families, the E3 project will provide training to victim advocates in brief mental health screening, evidence-based practice, identification and referrals, trauma responses, and evidence-based engagement skills. E3 training will be conducted in conjunction with a research project supported by a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH; R34MH118486) that will examine the best methods of training and determine if the training provided translates into improved family engagement in mental health services.
For more information, eligibility criteria, and a link to the application. If you have questions about the program, contact Michelle Miller, NCA’s coordinator for mental health projects, at mmiller@nca-online.org.”
