Resource: The Urban Indian Health Institute presents “Data Genocide of American Indians and Alaska Natives in COVID-19 Data,” which provides a Report Card on COVID-19 data quality by state. Reporting of race and ethnicity in COVID-19 public health surveillance data has been woefully inadequate since the beginning of the pandemic. Poor data collection and reporting standards by U.S. states resulted in a substantial gap in understanding the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on American Indians and Alaska Natives.
